Portland Council PTA is seeking New Leaders!

Portland Council PTA is seeking committed, dynamic and organized leaders for the 2020-2021 year!

The Portland Council Treasurer is an Executive Committee Member and is responsible for all monies of the council, keeping an accurate record of all funds and disbursing funds according to the approved budget. The Treasurer is expected to present a financial statement at regular meetings as well as when requested by the president.

The Portland Council Secretary is an Executive Committee Member and shall keep a record of all meeting minutes, participate in board discussions and assist in the preparation of all meeting materials.

Portland Council Section Vice Presidents (VPs) are an important part of the board, acting as the main liaisons between the Oregon PTA and the local units. VPs communicate with PTA Leaders in their area to facilitate leadership and impart information that is critical to the success of local PTAs. Attendance at a bi-monthly board meeting is mandatory and the workload, while a bit heavier in the fall, is approximately 6-8 hours per month (which includes the bi-monthly meeting). Duties consist of communicating via email or phone to local unit leaders and facilitating a monthly communication plan. Portland Council PTA Board Members also participate alongside Oregon PTA in training and advocacy issues at both the district and statewide levels.

If you, or someone you know, has the experience, dedication and ability to serve on our board, please let us know! This year, the positions open for election/appointment are:

President

Treasurer

Secretary

Cleveland Section VP

Franklin Section VP

Lincoln Section VP

Jefferson Section VP

Roosevelt Section VP

Wilson Section VP
